Who We Are:

At The Blooming Bistro (TBB), we’re more than just a restaurant—we’re a lifeline for disconnected youth. Our mission is to provide vital workforce training and social-emotional learning to young individuals facing significant challenges, including those involved with foster care, re-entry programs, or struggling with substance use disorders.

What We Do:

We specialize in empowering youth who are aging out of child welfare, in recovery from substance/alcohol use disorder, involved in the juvenile justice system, or experiencing homelessness. Through our comprehensive programs, we equip them with the skills they need to build sustainable lives. Our training encompasses hard and soft skills, all delivered in a supportive environment grounded in evidence-based practices from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Our programs focus on:

  • Culinary training and lifelong workforce skills,

  • Substance use prevention and mental health education

  • Suicide prevention strategies

  • Social/Emotional learning

  • Whole self wellness

By providing these essential tools, we aim to uplift individuals, enhancing their social connectedness and overall well-being. Together with Employ NV Youth Hub, community partnered organizations, Restaurant Hospitality Institute(RHI) and “The Steele Family” with over 80 years of hospitality experience in Las Vegas, will be hands-on with the participants daily. We will help uplift these individuals' lives with school, trades, and careers that can give them a sustainable life.

At TBB, we believe that awareness, education, and the right support can transform lives.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU:

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the individuals and organizations whose support has made TBB possible. Without the generous funding from the State of Nevada, the State Opioid Response (SOR) funding under the Division of Public and Behavioral Health Program Director Tracy Palmer, and the University of Nevada Reno (UNR) Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) led by Michelle Berry, we would not be able to help the youth in our community. Your belief in our mission has paved the way for change.
